A.1- The student interviews a close relation about his/her (the student’s) learning development.
Interview with my mother:
• What type of student was I when I was younger?
Overall, you were a very good student. You made sure to always get your homework done even if it was at last minuet. Occasionally, you would stray away from your work habits and your father and I would have to be sure to get you back on it.
• Did I read many books growing up? Did I enjoy reading?
When you were younger you began to read and loved it. I always believed that since Taylor (older sister) loved it so much, it caused you to begin reading so you would be like her. However, once you got a little older, like around the 6th grade, you began to stop reading as much.
• What were my favorite subjects as I grew up?
Ever since you were young you have always loved math. This was the one subject that you never seemed to have a problem with.
• After watching my learning habits, what would you say are the ways that I learned best?
Over the years I have noticed that you learn best by using your hands. I know that you have also even told me this before yourself. Your father was the same way, so my best answer for this question would be that the way you learn most efficiently is to be able to get a hand on experience.
• What did you notice about my study habits? How did I seem to study best?
When you were young I always made sure to sit down with you when you have a test and help you review your material. Once you got a little older you began to study in your room with music on. At first I didn’t believe this would be a good idea, but you proved me wrong by still getting good grades.
• What type of activities did I take part in outside of class?
Outside of school you were always outside. Ever since your father took you hunting for the first time when you were younger, you have practically “lived” in the woods. As you got older you began to play sports along with hunting.
• Since you have known me my whole life, and have had the chance to observe me as I grew up, what career or careers could you see me going after? What kind of jobs would I be good at?
After watching you these past few summers working in the family business, I feel that you’re learning habits and your strengths all show that you would do well in your father’s business.
• What kind of person do you see me as?
You are a wonderful young man who is always there for other people when they need you.

That's interesting. What's the family business?
ReplyDeleteIt's pretty much a development company, mainly neighborhoods and such.
